🔗 Share this article The second-hand marketplace Shoppers Express Frustration Over Sizing Modifications Shoppers are voicing their frustration after an update resulted in products showing incorrect sizing. The popular resale platform has revised its size classifications for women's and children's garments but did not contact all users about the change. Social Media Response Countless users and merchants have taken to social media stating that platform listings now display a modified sizing category compared to what was initially listed due to the recalibration. The company said the revised method more closely matches other platforms. They have suggested members to examine their items and manually change the size when needed, resulting in member annoyance. Measurement Approach Changes Before the change, the sizing featured one number and one letter, like S/8 or M/10. The revised method features a letter and a range such as S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the size labels have been reassigned - like an L measurement was formerly size 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. Shopper Experiences One content creator, who creates plus-size fashion videos, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult". "Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. Stephanie Gallen, located in Scotland, explained products she uploaded on Vinted with size 14 labels were displaying on the service as larger sizing 20-22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they may become frustrated," she said. Required Changes Charlotte Lunn, located in England, stated she felt frustrated by the change as she had to manually change the sizing for "all her products". "Personally, this is quite irritating, as I'm chronically ill and Vinted sales have been crucial for me since losing part of my income," she explained. Service Background The platform boasts over 100 million members, comprising 18 million UK members. It has emerged as a preferred choice compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This is not the initial instance that an unexpected update on the platform has faced criticism: previously, the service retracted a modification to its shipping options following member complaints.
