Red Bull has announced a major reshuffle for the 2026 Formula 1 season, moving up Frenchman Isack Hadjar to its A-team and awarding 18-year-old Briton Arvid Lindblad his first Formula 1 seat. The young driver, who has a Swedish father and a mother of Indian descent, will be team-mate to Kiwi driver Liam Lawson at the second team VCARB. This reshuffling sees Japan's Yuki Tsunoda exiting the grid post a half-decade in F1. Who is Arvid Lindblad? Arvid Lindblad took part in FP1 for the Silverstone and Mexican Grands Prix in the current season. Lindblad has been tagged as a rising talent by Red Bull since he was 12 years old. Discussing the team's young driver programme, a key advisor noted last year that Lindblad "appears very talented", praising his "pure speed". Red Bull has had a plan for some time to prepare Lindblad for his likely Grand Prix bow in 2026, featuring runs in F1 practice sessions at the British and Mexican races. Lindblad stated it was a "dream come true", adding: "2026 will be a big challenge, and I know there's much to understand, but I'm ready to collaborate with the team and meet the challenge. I can't wait to get started." Lindblad has taken two races in F2 this year and is sixth in the championship ahead of the final round in Abu Dhabi. Hadjar's Big Break Isack Hadjar enjoys his first podium in F1, secured at the Zandvoort race in August. Hadjar's F1 career started in difficult fashion when he crashed on the formation lap of the first Australian Grand Prix. However, from that point, he has been one of the stand-out newcomers this season. His performances featured an excellent podium finish at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he sits 10th in the drivers' standings. The team principal commented: "Isack has displayed great maturity and demonstrated to be a quick learner. Crucially, he has the innate pace that is the number one requirement in this sport. We believe he can thrive next to Max." The promoted driver called it "an incredible opportunity" and said he felt "up for the challenge". Lawson Retains His Seat To partner Lindblad at the junior team, Red Bull have chosen Lawson over Tsunoda. Lawson started 2025 with the main team but was demoted early in the year. He has found his form at Racing Bulls with notable results, persuading Red Bull he merits more time. Tsunoda, meanwhile, has been ejected after a disappointing season. His best result is a P6, and he has accumulated a minor percentage of the team's points total. The driver market moves mean that there is also no place on the Red Bull programme for Ireland's Alex Dunne, who will remain in F2 for 2026.
